Fees and bursaries:
Undergraduate fees
- All courses set at £3070 per annum.
- Sandwich year/training placement year set at £610.
Bursary
- Welsh National Bursary; From 2007/08, Welsh domiciled students studying at a Welsh University will be eligible to apply for a non-means tested Fee Grant of £1,845 to help towards the cost of tuition fees. You should contact your Local Authority for further details.
- Glamorgan Bursary; This scheme will provide bursaries of at least £305 per year to students who are in receipt of the full Assembly Learning Grant / Higher Education Grant.
Scholarships
- Entry Scholarship 2008; £1000 per annum award for students achieving 300+ tarriff points (or equivalent) and are studying on Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science (except BSc Social Work), Bachelor of Engineering/Masters in Engineering, Bachelor of Law and Foundation Degrees.
- Residential Allowance 2008; £500 per annum awards for students who have to live away from home to attend university and both your home address and your last school address* must be more that 45 miles by road from the main University campus at Treforest
- Sports Scholarships; £500 per annum award for elite athletes plus one off £150 kit grant and sports centre membership.
- Crawshawy’s rugby scholarship; £1000 per annum award to support a talented young player through higher education at the University whilst pursuing a rugby career.
Additional scholarships
- The Aeronautical Society Centennial Scholarship Fund Provides awards for students studying a BEng or MEng in Aerospace.
- The Canadian Centennial Scholarship Fund; Awards of between £500 – £2500 to Canadian men and women who have already commenced their studies in the UK.
- Elizabeth Nuffield Foundation for female undergraduate students with children.
- Leverhulme Trade Charities Trust Undergraduate Bursaries for family of commercial travellers, chemists or grocers.
- Legal Services Commission grants for students undertaking the LPC.
- The Snowdon Awards Scheme for students with disabilities
- The Marks and Spencer Student Support Programme; offers financial support to 35 students whose parents have not attended university. You’ll be given up to £1,000 in your first year and then £500 a year for the rest of your course.
- The Royal Medical Benevolent Fund can give financial support in the forms of grants and loans to GMC registered doctors and their dependants in need, if resident in the UK.
